I think you just have to not count the cost if you are doing it for yourself. If you kept all the reciepts it would break your heart, but then you dont keep all the reciepts of the beer you bought, or the fuel spent, or bits to go fishing etc...I am definitely NOT keeping reciepts for Martha, I will do as much work as I can myself, the rest well, its cheaper than botox!!!!

I have done 85% of the work on my car I am doing it because I want too and when and if I finish it I can say I built it , I wont say I haven't had help but most of the time it was because I didn't have enough hands OR knowledge to do it.
In my opinion If someone else builds it--- it's just another car

I am lucky that I have had a great band of friends who have helped me with all kinds of car stuff over the years. I just have a passion for learning, so I want to know how it all works. If I dont know I leave it to the experts, but the rest, well the blood, sweat, tears, scrubbing, sanding, skun knuckles means Martha and I are a team. Sad as it is, I am in love with my car....
