Tips on painting Panels

Post by Tasek »

Hi
Just began stripping down my ute for painting prep. I recently purchased this car from a guy who has done a great job with the rust removal and panel work. Everything is nice and straight and a parts car came in the deal so I can pick the best bits if something is a little sus.
He got up to a flash coat of primer and was aligning the panels to doors for gaps ,strikers etc but ran out of enthusiasm when he bought another project car a Charger and needed the money so I got her for a bargain price. His loss being my gain.

I have some spray painting experience and intend doing all the paint work myself.

However I have never done a full strip and paint of a car before and was hoping I could pick a few of the very knowledgeable and far more experienced brains I see that hang out here.

I guess my first question is what is the best way to hang panels to get a good coverage and not end up with gaps or rub points?

Thanks in advance
