LH/LX Torana frontend conversion

G'day everyone, I just read an article on a modified FC with a chev in it, the one thing it had that I have never heard of was a Torana LH/LX frontend conversion in it and that it was a straight forward fit with little modifications. Has anyone heard of this or done this conversion before, want to know more before i change the frontend in my FB, cheers oldfb6

well if your talking the entire crossmember from the torana into the fc then i beg to differ ....
from what i can remember of running the ruler over them the chassis rail mounts on the torana front end are a fair bit further apart than the fc rails ...
i have seen pictures of a bloke doing it to an EH and he had to make new mounting pads on the torana front end to suite the EH's rails.

i'm pretty sure i've seen one in an EJ wagon a white one that's been around for years so if they will go into an EJ/EH they will go into an FB/EK allthough i doubt it is straight forward

i found the pics of the one i was thinking of....

in this pic you can see the original torana chassis rail mounts and then the EH mounts are a fair way inward of that.

a mate put one in his eh, he modified it to fit but i cant remember how.
he said it was worth it because he got a better turning circle
