Vintage speedway display

Went along to a vintage speedway day today, was only a static display unfortunately

Some really nice midgets there including a Repco headed grey

Those cars are so cool. So many guys got killed in them.

A lot of midget racers back then ran under an alias. Usually the reason was so their family didnt know they were racing.
One such person was my mothers cousin.
He was racing under an assumed name.
One night he flipped the car. A photographer captured the flip and it made the back page of the paper.
His mother reading the paper recognised him. That was the end of his midget speedcar carreer.
