does anybody know if a red crash (non syncro) gearbox will fit in the standard manual floor hump of and FB/EK without mods? or with a bit of a tap here and there?

They break very easily though behind even a very mild red.... my old EK ute destroyed four

They are tight but like Tim said they do fit.
