I've got a few fuel leaks at the T junction of the triple setup. The hard lines at the T junction have only been single flared. Do I need to go to double flared or can you get some sort of tape?

Tried that. Is it possible to crush or damage the flare?

Yes stewart you can damage them. You can try some thread seal tape. Ide be pullng it all apart and lookng at the flares.

All nipped up. Definitely coming from the junctions. Just working out my options...I think I'll be redoing them with double flares.

Stu,

Should be double flared or ball flared - take a look at the tee-block seats to see which one you need. The article here:
http://www.hoppers.com.au/street4.htm
has some good pictures of the seat types. Teflon tape is a no-no - it should seal on the flare, not the thread.

Cheers,
Harv.

It might be easier to change the blocks instead of re-flare the pipes, Stewart.. as stated, the types of flare must match both fittings.

I have also found that with steel tubing, if the pipe does not run squarely into the block, it resists seating correctly - copper will almost "mould" to shape.
