anyone know the correct volvo model that has the disc brake diff that
can be used in a fb ek ?

I think any 80's Volvo will be the rite width.
I went to a wreckers and measured a few different models and the all seemed to be the same width.

Thanks trev just looking at disc brake rear options for the fb
with out needing to get one shortend

164,165 and 244, 245 models should all be relatively similar... but that model should get the job done.

tape measure never hurts but.

I had one here out of an 84 4 cyl wagon...it was 1420mm face to face from memory...I think EK is 1460mm?

Somebody will confirm that as right or wrong.

I remember pulling a diff from an old 244 at the wreckers. The width at the flange was an extra 15mm each end. Still, a tape measure at the wreckers wouldn't hurt.
