Despite what mosy believe im actually 15 and this is my first EK, following my last restoration of a 1974 TY250A
Hopefuly with a little help from father I can finish it for when I get my liccence.
The plan:
HR front end, 186 Red motor and Aussie 4 speed, Lowered, Shaved door handles, HQ Bucket seats, 1 pc bumpers, joining up the rear tail lights to the body and hopefully some more cool stuff.
Just to be a little different as my father is restoring an FB wagon (fb4655)
Ideas welcome and progress pics will be up.
The cars called 'Lil mike'

Awesome to see you having a go at the age of 15

What you plan on doing to the car wouldn't be my choice, but I'm an old fart and pretty stuck in my ways.

Hope you enjoy the process, and hope even more you learn how to post pics so that we can see the build

Go get em young fella :)

Good on you. I still have my FJ that I bought at 15 out in the shed.
You are lucky that your old man is into cars mine simply tolerated them.
Tim
I started with cars about the same ago but like you tim my father only knows how to kill cars.
Things like checking the oil and water is only done when the light comes on.
Ill never forget the new hk wagon he bought. The day he brought it home whilst backing it into the garage he hit a tree pushing in the tailgate. He spent the rest of the night screaming his head off as he cut the tree down.
he bought a new lj torana. When it was only six months old he drove it around a paddock trying to run over rabbits. On the same holiday he drove it on the beach to go fishing..
He has never understood my car obsession. Even now im 46 when i buy another car he goes off his brain even though he has watched me make a career out of repairing and wheeling and dealing.

Good stuff.
You are incredibly lucky to have your Dad onside with doing this.
I drove my parents nuts.
They were far from encouraging me to waste my wages on old Holdens, and dad still shakes his head at me playing with "old junk".

Good luck with it. :D

Good stuff Matthew, looks like some fun times ahead. Can I make one suggestion, instead of the HQ buckets have you thought about some prem buckets from an EJ or hr. they're not as big and fit a lot better in an EK.

The only reason I wanted Buckets out of a HQ was that i want head rests for safety reasons, any other suggestions?

Hi back bucket seats look terrible in old holdens. Your safety concerns are valid but so is crossing the road.

ha ha yeah thats true, I must say I am a fan of bench seats but I'm are planing to put in a 4 speed or a celica 5 speed. So that means I need buckets don I, and if i have to go buckets they may aswel be safe... ish :ewink:
