Cross-braces in front a radiator.

I've noticed that some cars have cross-braces in front of the radiator, and some don't
Just wondering if there was any rhyme or reason to this? Thinking it might be an auto / manual car thing.
I need to know because I'll probably fit a front-mounted thermo-fan to make more room for my dupercharger belts and the braces will be in the way.

Some manuals did have them. Holden put out a heavy duty radiator option after the advent of the wider radiator for the EK auto's. By all accounts it was a rare one.

Wow
You know, the thing that strikes me most about that document Craig? I bet that's the signatures of the workshop crew, signing to show that they had read the bulletin. Given that was over 50 years ago now, I wonder how many of them are still with us?

G'day Alan,
yep I reckon so about the mechanics signing them. For me its the history behind them. I only wish they could speak of the stories of them and all the mechanics that worked on these Holdens in their heyday.
Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at a dealer ship or a "production line" back then.
