Electronic dizzy on grey motor.

Post by OLDN64EH »

Gday guys,

I'm going to do away with the points on the EK.
I've got a HEI coil, just have to buy the dizzy itself.
For memory, that's all I need yeah?
It's still running the standard generator.
That setup will work wont it?

I'm not aware that there is anyone out there that sells off the shelf electronic distributors for a grey motor.
Grey motor distributors are very different to Red motors in that they incorporate the oil pump drive on the end of the shaft, amongst other differences.
Pertronix make a electronic conversion kit i.e. no more points. Usually there is some listed on Ebay.

Also try this mob:

They may be able to do a graft of a &*#@ HEI distributor to Grey motor shaft as per the pics below.

Haha...beat me to it by about a second. I was just saying exactly the same thing.

Would love to know if there is a complete off-the-shelf dizzy that fits the grey.
