Thanks wayne. I called in at russells (rustydungers) a few weeks ago and he showed me pics of all the cars he had been selling on behalf of an old man dispersing his collection.
Amongst all the pics was this sydney county council van.
At first I just wanted to copy the artwork for my sydney county council fb ute.

The more I thought about it the more I wanted it.
Two weeks ago a guy made me an offer I couldnt refused on my 21000 mile fx project I picked up before christmas.

With cash in hand and finally making a time with russell we drove over to look at the van.

One look and the deal was done.

The van is mint and there is no question about the mileage.
The engine bay is like new.

The van had an external paint job twenty years ago.
It even still has the ladder rack and the service number.
When we got back to my place we went for a quick drive down the road. Went back fixed a few things and then took it for a good run, the first in many years.

After russell left I drove it home to my wifes place. It didnt miss a beat.

Once home my excited kids played inside of it. I sat in the back with them for a good half an hour until my eldest daughter cracked her head on the roof using the seat as a trampoline.
There was no sympathy from me as I warned her it would happen. Once the crying stopped she went back to jumping on the seat.

My little one contented herself with climbing over the back seat to the front and playing with the steering wheel.

Thanks russell for holding it for me and letting me buy it.

Cool 8)

A mate of mine had a 4WD one of them - it was a piece of crap , rusty as , lots of mechanical dramas , etc - but geez we had some fun in it

He rebuilt it with a BBC behind the original 4 speed box , painted it up , fitted flash seats etc but it was way more fun as a dunger
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
