I am after an FB special wagon.
I would like one in original condition not modified ( sorry )
More after one that does not require much work.
I am located in sydney but happy with any location for a good wagon.
Cheers Mark.

Try sending a PM to taggsfbholden. He had a nice FB wagon for sale here in WA not long ago, not sure if it sold etc. Very nice restored car

I know of this wagon... I was the highest bidder last time he listed it on ebay. Reserve was not met and I tried to negotiate a price but he then said he will not sell and keep it. looks like he has changed his mind.

It's on Carpoint for 16K. I guess that gives a pretty good idea of his expectations price wise?

How does the car look 'in the flesh'?

Your guess is as good as mine. I called him on two ocassions to look at the wagon and he did not even return my calls.
Maybe he is not too keen to sell.

Also has a interesting transfer on the back window
Of a FB and EK together. Wonder if it was a early club car at some stage?

Yeah, without invoking the wrath of the Mods, I'd have to say that, in general, and not talking about any car in particular, or about this one in particular, a claim of low mileage would have to be checked by looking at, for example, the state of the driver's seat etc... The odometer would be one of the last things I'd look at.

On the eBay ad, it says 55,000 miles / 89,000 kilometers (which is fine), but the Carpoint ad says 38,000 miles / 61,000 kilometers. Hmmmm! I'd ask the owner to explain the difference for sure. Could just be that the Carpoint ad is pretty old?

Mind you, bit hard to do that if the owner isn't returning calls :eh:

I recently almost bought a car of eBay based on the owners claims that the mechanicals had been fully reco'd 4000K's previously. Turns out, when inspected, it might have had an oil change, but that was about it (it was actually pretty knackered).

I was considering to give the wagon another shot but now I will give it a miss. It has been on carpoint for a while and I thought it would have sold by now....maybe no one can get in contact with him???

maybe the wife said sell and this is his way of "trying" to sell it, or if you can get in touch with him just put it on him do you want to sell the car or are you just f#%king people around

as for mileage (not that it worries me) unless someone has SUBSTANTIAL proof of low mileage claims i take it with a grain of salt, it's been said elsewhere there's not alot of FB/EKs around and it seems ALL of them have considerably less than 100,000 miles on them

Yeah, and they all seem to be 'regrettable' sales... Why is that?

There should be a medal for the first person on eBay that says "I'm selling my S**t-box because it's a noisy, smelly, rusty peice of crap that pi$$es oil all over my driveway. It does look cool though, so if you're 'dumber than the av-er-age bear', with some spare cash, then I'll happily take your money"
