Early stages I know but starting to put my feelers out for who in SA could carry out rust repairs and paint & panel for me....

Have a number of rust repair panels and complete replacements already (with more to come!) but looking to see who I might actually get to do the work (also might be a good idea to have a look before I buy panels I don't actually need!).

Still not sure if I will go full bare shell bare metal or just dip/blast the hanging panels and strip the rest externally...

All advice and recommendations appreciated

Firstly, it's your car and you do what ever you want with it, none of my business .
How bad is the car?
It may be not as good as it looks in the photos but it looks to me it's a car that you could get a year or 2 of enjoyment out of before you take on a full rebuild.
A rebuild like that can take as much as 5 years or more, unless your a fast worker and know what your doing (unlike me), it's a long time to be without your car you just purchased.

You're absolutely right too. I've been looking for an EK for a LONG time now, and always wanted one I could actually drive and enjoy, not something that just sat in the shed for years that I could quite possibly lose interest in...

Right now you can't keep me outta the thing! I'm taking her to the shops, doing the work run once a week and driving it just for the sake of driving it (because I can!)

The current plan is: Drive her as much as I can, while I can, and while the weather is decent. I've got a big rare spares order to get in and in a few months I'm gonna pull all the chrome off and send it off for re-plating (maybe over winter!). When I get it back I'll probably put it all back on with some of the repro bits and continue driving...

That's all of this year and maybe even half of next year gone.

Next step will be paint and panel. Like I said, early days, but I'm pretty fussy and want to make sure I find the right people to do the work (and get an idea of the $$ I'm up for so I can plan/budget accordingly). I also need advice on a couple of panels etc so I know if I really need to search for replacements or work with what I've got....

To keep the ball rolling, I might even try and capture the true condition of her in some photos and post them in this thread....
