I'm thinking of buying a warmaride heater but the heater guide did nothing but confuse me.

the warmaride I'm looking at is the round one, I have the 2 switches on my dash does this type work with that?

Ali,

The heater in the picture is the earlier Warmaride heater. Normally the FB/EK's have the square type, but the round one is a perfectly acceptable period accessory - my bet is that more than a few FB/EK's were fitted with these by dealers.

The dual dash switches (generally) require some buggering around no matter what heater you put in (I assume you are talking about the chrome plated slide switches on the dash). The "heat" one can be rigged up with an aftermarket valve (highly recomend the “Universal 5/8'' or 16mm Cable Operated Heater Tap” (part number HA4008) available from Speedy Air Spares, 41 Beatrice Street Bundaberg QLD 4670, Phone (07) 4152 7693, E-mail jeremy@speedyairspares.com.au, http://speedyairspares.com.au). The tap can be fitted either in the engine bay or under the dash (neater) and requires a bowden cable to operate - buy the bowden cable from SuperCheap, Rare Spares or your local mower shop  . The "air" switch should already be connected by a bowden cable to the plenum door under the dash.

first switch opens and closes the plenum door it appears to work fine.

the second switch says fan rather than heat so I think it was for a fan heater.

I should note that I have the "poor mans heater" in amongst my spare parts what's best?

I'm in no hurry still have much to do before installing the heater just weighing up my options

The round warmaride is normally better than the "poor mans". It has the demister duct connections - poor mans heaters also can have them (plastic duct ends cable tied on), but they are rarer.

Can you post a picture of the switch (the fan bit gor me curious).

Cheers,
Harv.

My bad Harv I'm not near the vehicle and it seems my memory is playing tricks on me!

It does say heat.
