Well just came in from the shed and the battery in my 36 Flathead &*#@ is stuffed, I know it doesn't get used that much anymore so before I buy another battery can I ask who is using the Battery Tenders that are on the market??
From what I've googled they will keep the battery charged in ready to go condition without risking damage from overcharging, but I've never had one so I thought if anyone can recommend a brand to go with and has anyone had any problems with them.

Cant remember the brand but we got one for the old man to keep his ride on mower battery charged. It came from Autobarn and I think started with an A?! Seems to work well.

The other thing to do is to get one of the battery terminals which have an inbuilt isolator. They have a green plastic threaded knob which makes the connection when you tighten it up. Simply unscrew (a two second job) till there is no connection and then retighten when you need to use the car. I had your same problem in my roadster it was always flat or near flat due to low use. This solved it.

I know what you mean, I guess its like so many things today. "They don't make em like they used to" Thats why the battery tender idea is being looked into.
