Nasco Oil Filter System For a Great Motor

Hi,
I'm wanting to put a Nasco Oil Filter System on my car. Here is a pic of what I have
A new filter and the unit.
My question to the experts is - I Notice the filter replacement has a paper washer for the top of the can.
Is this the only seal for the top?
And if it is, does it work without leaking?
Any advise would be appreciated
All Grey motor EK's I have owned in the past have not had the filter
cheers
Paul K

Paul,

Looks like a RYCO filter (could be wrong). The photo below may help for the washer assembly:
Image
1. ¾” AF bolt x 1 7/16” long
2. steel washer 5/8”OD, 7/16”ID, 1/32” thick
3. fibre washer 7/8” OD, 7/16” ID, 3/32” thick
4. canister lid
5. filter seating spring
6. canister lid gasket 45/16” OD, 35/8” ID
7. RYCO R3P filter element
8. filter seating washer
9. filter seating spacer (washer and spacer combined are ¾” tall)
10. filter canister 4 1/8” OD, 4 1/32” ID, length (without lid) 5 9/16”

The A.C. Delco filters have a different washer assembly:
