fitting HT/g wheels?

Gday,

Sorry if this has been covered before, but ive done a search and I cant find an answer to my problem. I bought some 14" HT/G rims (at least I think they are :D ) about a year ago and i'm finally getting round to completing the ute.

The wheels have the correct pcd, the problem is that they are raised around the wheel nut hole so that there isnt enough of the stud coming through the wheel.
Using the original nuts only about half of the thread makes contact?

My brake shoes and front end etc are all original, so it has me stumped as it seems as though a lot of people are running these wheels with no dramas. Do I need to install longer studs or do you guys machine the wheel nuts to fit?

Cheers :)

What running gear have you got in the ute?
Looks to me that the wheel isn't flush with the drum, is there a gap? or is it just the pic?

Cheers fellas, new studs it is then :) , It does have original running gear and the wheels sit on the drum properly, the pics just make it look a bit gimpy

are you using the HT nuts which have a 60 degree taper, as opposed to the ek/fb ones with 45 degree taper? 45 degree ones will never fit right.

Mai ki ki,

Yeah i tried that after reading your post, but I'm still about 8 mil too short. I guess thats why I started this post as it seems as though others arent having any problems?. Are you running stock running gear? Ive already removed the studs anyhow, just waiting for my new ones to arrive, I figured its just cheap insurance to put in longer studs

cheers

Mines all stock....the studs are shorter but I can get them on enough with the correct nuts.
