I spent a good week vacuuming out the wagon when it was done, I cut holes in the sub frame and sills got a garden hose and attached it to my vac and fed it in as much as I could (what a pain in the ass

).
Then when I tipped it on it's side more sand came poring out of other crevices

.
I wouldn't run water through any part of the car, it could just turn into sludge and start the rusting process over again.

i used the air compressor to blow air in there and sand just keeps coming out. the sand will attract moisture once its on the road, there is drain holes where water is spose to run out thats why i figured wash it out =\ i have just left it for now it doesnt get in the road its only in the 2 sills and 2 peices of subframe

I wouldnt wash it out either. Just keep using the air compressor to blow it out as you are doing and use the vaccuum too with the garden hose as a nozzle as Trev suggested. It'll be a while till you get it all out.

yeah i'de try my best to keep it as dry as possable, a mate had a good EH ute got it sand blasted didn't clean it propperly it got wet the ute didn't last long after that, it just rusted away from the inside out
i don't like sandlasting etc, i once went on an excursion to BHP steel mills when i was an aprentice, the sheet steel is treated after it's made and sandblasting removes this treating, that's why it rusts so easilly after it's been blasted

i didnt sand blast, but i sprayed a bucket load of fish oil into my sills and subframe etc. there was heaps of dust in there, but mixed with the fish oil im hoping it makes a rust resistant coating
