Rain held off today which was good. They got about 40 cars, they were shooting for 100 but the wet weather would have scared a lot of people off I think. Location was fantastic - lots of shade, a great vibe, right next to the beach a few restaurants close by and a bunch of other shops and eating options within a short walk. Nice and relaxed vibe, they had a couple of bands Wes Pudsey was pretty good and the other one was your typical retro cover band. The 'surf museum' was a bit of a let down, I was expecting vast numbers of worn timber longboards   They had some cool vintage photos and a bunch of 60s and 70s boards, and some old skateboards too.

All in all for a first hit out it was a pretty good effort. Given the awesome location it makes for a nice excuse to hang out at the beach all day   I'm definitely keen to get along next year, but don't come expecting heaps of cars. The vibe being next to the beach and under the trees was similar to wintersun (which is what they were trying to acheive I think), but without the crowds! Basically think a baby wintersun   Be interesting to see how they tweak it next year, I think they'll struggle to fit as many cars as they'd like.
