Hi
New to the forum.
I bought the V8 FB forsale in the for sale section.
Anyway hears where it starts.(I took grammar lessons from the guy I bought it off) Hear/Here!
I have been wanting to build a hotrod for the last 2 years.
32 &*#@ roadster/T bucket/Model A/Tudor?
Had quotes and price to build 50k plus, minister of finance says elnoho you getto.
So start again muscle car! Elnoho.
Well what can I get?
why not get a classic aussie car? says the minister of finance and now the minister of FUN!
OK lets do it.
Along comes an Ebay ad after a few beers, and viola as they in france.
I inspect with cash in pocket, 8grand nothing less!
Bullshit the things full of rust and the trannies f#$ked.
"I will throw in the spare doors" what for are they full of rust to?
"no mate you cant get these anymore" bullshit I have seen one for $7000 better than this shit heap!
"well what will you pay?" $6000 no more cash here now (present cash fanned out in 100 notes.)
"No I had an offer yesterday for $7500" well you better ring that guy back because if the RTA saw this you and your mechanic are f#$%*d, how did it get a pink slip with no Numbers on the body. (numbers seen on drivers front right engine bay)
"What do you mean they all match up" well where are they?
"I dont no I never checked"
I'll take it now no questions asked with a screwed trannie 6K that it (started walking with cash still fanned out)
"OK its yours"
OK give me all the spares youve got and we have a deal!
DONE!
(I will work out how to post pics 2moro)

What link? Best way to buy a car is to have the cash there and then 'cos as they say money talks bullshit walks... Sounds like it needs a bit but all fixable.

But, I'll add buy the time you're finished with the car don't be surprised if you realize you've spent way more than you first thought you would and you can build a rod for far cheaper than 50gees especially if you can do most of the work yourself.

Welcome Baker
I just checked out the ebay listing and I love the way the seller never mentioned anything about the rust.

I must admit the pictures made it look good, but it must have been a bit of a surprise when you lifted the carpets.

What did he have to say when you found the rust, and more rust, and then some more rust. Geez there are some shonks around, and like you say how did he get a pinkslip, must have another shonk as a mechanic.

Cheers Woody

Yeah rust is a problem but the floors are nothin.
I have sand blasted and cleaned everything up and she isnt that bad.
Just got home after stripping and sanding the roof and the rear guards, 8hours of RDO time no rust in the roof and a bodgy rear drivers quarter but as I am learning the deeper you dig the more you find. And surprisingly I am wrapped I bought it as initially I thought WTF, but now I am addicted to it.
I have saved a paint tin full of rust cornflakes and will send to him when I am finished, I rang him and said the only thing holding this car together was the bench seat. Didnt get a return call
Anyway its not a big drama I will fix it and do everything he wanted to do to the old girl but couldnt.
