Just a quick note to let you all know that Muriel the Castille Green FB was awarded the G.M.H car of the day for 2010 at this years N.S.W. ALL HOLDEN DAY.
With over 800 cars on display she certainly had heaps in the way of competition and she did very well taking the status of FB HOLDEN to a new level.
The day was great and the wet weather held off till we were on our way home when the hevens opened up .By the time we were 10 klms away from home it was
snowing....what an eventfull day.....

well done darren yor car didn't have much competition as far as condition goes, but at the AHD who can tell what will win a VB commodore used for shopping could win there
was gunna have a yak but that other fella was doing to good of a job chewing yor ears off

did you get much snow, about what time, it tried very hard to snow on us between bathurst and blayney but that was 5.30ish

The quality was up this year, though. I reckon there were at least 50 cars, maybe more, there (not just FB/EK), that wouldnt be out of place in concourse judging.

How long ago was Muriel restored? It's in amazing condition.

Thanks....Muriel was painted (outside only / engine bay etc..) back in 1997 just in time for Holdens 50th Birthday 13 years ago now
in my double garage when we lived at Katoomba N.SW. ...the rest is all hers from the factory

We got home about 7PM ish we took a detour and visited some friends on the way home it was coming down nicely and disappeared by 8 pm
with clear skies again. This morning when i left for work at 6.30 itwas falling again..very windy ..maybe the wind was letting it hit the higher areas.

That car is amazing, and I too am amazed that all the interior is original.

Yeah i was getting constant questions from a lot of interested people...i did see you just as you said i was caught up.
Good to see you again although only briefly...i spoke to toots as well hes ok and say's that he will be around to catch up soon.
Here that he is quite the buisiness man these days...

Yeah the trim is very honest and i would say that it was beacause the car was garaged much of the time which helps.
The floor mats are original and do have some cracks but the rubber floor mats hide most of it so it's not worth
replacing it.

Woops....i hope i haven't opened a can of worms...he's always been known as bubbles ( MICHEAL ) to us and others for ...20 yrs i reckon
he does have a soft side you know. I won't mention then his other nick name....

Congratulations Darren and Julie, so glad you made the trip down on a wet weather weekend. It is also wonderful to have a Muriel back in the Car Club.

There was some extremely nice FB's and EK's on display and I thank those who made the effort too!

Well done on your win with Muriel - she is one sweet old lady !!!

As for the floor mats - if I were you I would be getting out the thinners and removing all those little spots of green paint, , lol!
