Hi guys thought you would be interested in seeing what cars we have at home. First is a photo of my 59 Chev owned her 8 years 327 V8 powerglide - love this car, never part with it! My gal acquired a 57 Pontiac Superchief 347 V8 manual full mechanical rebuild car, still has a lot of original paint, painted in original 1957 Holden colours and still has original number plates. Drives very well, great spare car

Hi I love that Chev of yours. So I've sent you a picture and story of something that happened to me while I was out in mine one evening. What a pleasant surprise. Just by way of translation from the Afrikaans: the Aunty exclaimed: Bloody hell theres two of them.

Hey just had an idea. We are on the coast and the Mercedes Benz factory is here. Twice a week car carriers with 5000 cars come and go from our port. So if you shipped yours here we could take a cruize up to Fort Beaufort with yours and mine and have the "Turquoise 59 Chev Sedan Nationals". All three in attendance.

I gathered up bits and pieces for 12 years, (starting with an empty shell in a chassis without suspensions that was 1000 km away) before starting to build my one. Floor pan came from 600 km away and the Roof skin off a 60 Pontiac.
Clock pieces from Switzerland , Starter motor parts from Brazil and hubcaps from your good country.

It's along story but I have it in a PDF format. I will hunt it out the archive file and get it to you, if your'e keen.

I had a 57 Pontiac 2 door Hardtop. I sold it to a mate of mine a few years ago. He died last year and his wife is hanging on to it. It needs a full resto. She is hoping her son who is around 7 will take it on.

Ive also got a 57 Pontiac boat Race engine. Jahns pistons worked heads and 6 stromberg 97's.

I am looking for a set of upper and lower control arm bushes for the 59. I can get in the States from a number of companies but the postage is quite high. With us the exchange rate always is a bit of a killer (R6,50 to the OZ$ and R7,50 to the US$) So I try to do the maths carefully before ordering something.
A set of HR rear spring bushes from Rarespares cost AU$ 10 to here , but I have been quoted US$30 to get the 59's bushes here from the US. So it makes quite a difference in our 'Monkey Money"
Was wondering if there are supply companies over there you could give me a web address of, so I can take a look.
Also looking for a set of Hydraulic lifters for the straight six 235 cid Chev motor.

Alastair , I have a set of '64 Chev ones here , theres 8 bushes , 6 are the same , two are slightly shorter and are labelled upper a arm bushes '55-'70 . They are yours if you want them - I will swap you for a couple of South African numberplates or something interesting to hang in my bar ????

I buy my Chev stuff from the Filling Station in the USA - they will post their gear unlike most suppliers.
