This is for "ek ute" right now but hope this can help alot of you out there.......

Patrick,

What year model Rodeo did the seat you are using come from ?

Do you, or any others out there know the years / models produced that can be used, ie those that are most suitable ?

I am sure there have been mentions of different seats but it would be good if they could all be put under one heading if anyone wants to contribute .

I have a '90 rodeo and I reckon that bench would slip in really easily, plus it's got a notch if you have a floor shifter and a tilt mechanism for access behind the seat.

I think Rodeo 98 - 2004 are all the same. Mine is 2002 from memory. You can pay $400 for a good one; $200 for worn out one. No cheapies anymore. Think mine was around $220. 2WD bench aren't that common.
I recently bought 2WD ute (Rodeo as it turned out) for my son; heaps of 4WD stuff around, but base models are scarce.

Thropzed has photos in "Parts Wanted - Bench Seat - Oct 23 2009". Don't ask how to get it onto here.

hope this helps

Patrick

Dave,
i used a bench seat out of a 94 &*#@ courier or mazda bravo same thing anyway. Good sturdy seat with slight cut out for gear shift. Slightly narrower than original seat from memory.
I just had some ally blocks machined up to suit seat mountings and original floor mounting points.

x2... other than the normal HR and HK type what have people used?

Im thinking honda prelude buckets in mine  I know its not period correct but being my daily i want to be comfy. And these are great... you sit in them not on them :)
My dad has them in his HR, but being a ute he gets away with the headrests. There an awesome seat and with some work you could still make them look alright in a sedan.. just add padding to the sides so its level with the centre and delete the headrests.

Don't like head rests in an early, they just don't suit.
I would stick with HR style, re-sprung and padded and they are as comfy as you would need, (just my opinion :D ).

my uncle used the bucket seats out of a hyundai excel in his rod. shows you can pretty much use whatever you want-just need to be able to adapt it. anything out of a 90's small car would probably have a low backrest so it wouldn't look out of place in the car-and we all know most new cars are comfy

Trev, my sister has HR buckets in her HD, they've been packed with high density foam and arent sloppy. You had me caught in two minds so i sat in her seats last night... Got out, went straight to dads ute, sat in his jap seats and just about creamed myself! Words can't explain 8) 8) Its my daily, i gotta be comfy, so sorry but its jap seats for me! Agreed with the headrests not suiting an early though.. and like i said i wont run them :D

Your right Jimmy, the sides of the jap seats are exactly the same height as the HR seats and the back section is only about 4 inches higher. I think they'll look okay once the headrests are gone 8)

I had HR buckets but decided i didnt like or want the lounge suite look and luckily dad found a pair of grey leather bucket seats out on hard garbage that i will be using- which is cool as my interior is grey. Generally i look for seats that have flat evenly spaced tracks so that its easy to make brackets up for them.
