Well the story goes i have a hk had a 186 and 3 speed auto and the 186 died. Its four wheel drum and i have put freshish 202 in it havent really taken it out much lately and figured i should probably sort out the engine numbers and so on for rego.

So question is do i need a blueplate even though the compacity difference isnt huge and if i do need a blueplate will is be fine with the drums ?

Im in qld any help from anyone that knows any good no fuss places to sort out a blueplate would be great!

cheers

It is less than a 10% increase in capacity so I don't think you will have a problem, unless you have some bazar law up in QLD  , Trev 8) .

they have some bazar laws in QLD  prolly would be ok, you'll only get 50 different answers here from nobody that knows for certain best go and see the authorities
i know things have changed but years ago my uncle had to get a blue plate cause he took a bench seat out of a WB ute and put WB bucket seats in :?

I would just take it in for a engine number update and don't even mention the capacity, like you didn't know  , and when ask just say "it's a holden red 6, the same as the other one!"
If there is a big deal with it they will tell you what your next step will be, Trev 8) .

Only problem you may have is with insurance companies. If it comes to the crunch and you are unfortunate enough to have an accident. In this day and age with someone always trying to blame the other party and insurance companies being a necessary evil, you may give them an out on a technicality in having a "larger" engine than the one stated on the rego documents. Just my two bobs worth but may be worth considering.
