Gday,

*disclosure* I am in no way, or pretend to be an 'expert' Couldn't you just replace the wheel cylinder? Would save you a lot of stuffing around.

cheers

I'm with 'F' Troop.

Head off to Repco or where ever and get a new slave cylinder assy and leave the rest. If you buy another old backing plate with an old S/C chances are it will be on it's way out and no guarantee that bleed nipple won't be seized too.

It won't hurt to take the original with you to make sure they give you the right replacement.

When undoing brake nipples (not pink ones) use a brass, copper or ally drift and sharply tap the end of them to help free up seized threads before laying a spanner on them.

My opinion - others may disagree

Bit of a tip from a fitter.Always turn old threads you want to start like your undoin them and you will feel it fall into place then turn the right way saves things like this from happening 8)
