My wife, and I are looking to buy an all originally restored EK/FB ute with papers if possible. No mods please.

Yep, there was heaps of "I want a ute" posts.Prior to that the "I want a van" period and the "I want a wagon" era as well.

Hi guys,
Nah, that's cool, just wanted to clarify that comment.
Thanks for clearing that up though fellas...
Spoke to Steve Jackson today, and he said he will keep a look out for us.
Really keen to own one, but I know I have to find the right ute that I want...
Thanks,
StealthEK.

They are out there as we found out - and can be had pretty cheaply too so long as you are patient.
I have no idea of what samprinci (check his progress posts) paid for his but mine at $8000 was a great buy. Don't know about papers but have the glove box wallet with it's contents including original owner details, and now know most of the first part of it's life and the last twenty years as well - currently waiting to fill in the middle!
Are you after some sort of show stopper or a good honest old driver?

Hi Dave,
Yeah, one of my best mate gave me that advice too regarding being patient and finding the right one lol!
Finances are there, so I am not too worried about rushing into it as yet until the right one comes along. I know there are good ones still available to us. As for a show stopper or an honest reliable ute??..I guess a bit of both??!! lol.
Can I ask where and when yours was purchased? Any pics?, just want to compare what an $8000 ute on the market would look like on here.
Regards,
StealthEK.

Hi Stealth. Nothing personal. Like everyone has said its wasnt that long ago that we went through "The I want a ute Saga".
Good luck with your search. Just watch for rust. Some people are really good at covering it up. I looked at a HK Monaro yesterday. They covered the whole inner wheel wells with bathroom sealer and then body shutzed (spray tar) over it all. My mate who is doing the repair is pulling his hair out. The car is a mess and he paid $15000 for it. It will never be any good.

Send me you email via PM and I will send you some pics. I am also hoping to get some posted on here once I figure it out Mechanical stuff I find dead easy but the computer stuff - still wearing 'L' plates.
When you see the pics I think you will be surprised where patience and a bit of luck can get you a nice car without the stupid rip off prices ! That way you have plenty left over to get it 'just right'................
Bootlegger is right about the everyone wanted a ute thing a while back to - go back through the cars wanted threads.
