Rust under dash

Guys Ive got rust under dash on my ute, whats the best way to remove this at home. seems a terrible place to get to. Or am i destined to send to a acid dip// :roll:

ps i heard that if u go the acid dip this will remove coating in seams and in places where I wont b painting creating new places for the rust to get a foothold in the future... Any suggestion greatly welcomed

depending how bad the rust is you can treat it with rust converter. then paint it with kill rust. use a wire brush or the brushes that go on your drill to remove
any loose rust first. i had some surface rust and this is what i did. :) :)

alright ill give it a go thx, so id use the rust kill after the converter, would this mean id have to sand down the converter before applying the kill??:?:
(i never realized u could/should use both products in the one job) :shock:

Hi, if its any help, I have been doin rust repairs for nearly 20 years and there are a couple of products that are ok, allot are crap. This is what I do. So long as it’s not a seam, a good wire brush and some xtroll. If three coats are applied most services are sealed and no further medium is required. You can paint directly over it or leave it in the rain. In other words this is a good all rounder. If it’s a seam, depending on amount of rust you can tap fine screwdriver in lightly between spot welds to loosen rust, then same. Apply Xtroll. You can then tap seam back into place. Hope that’s a help.
