painting steering wheel

i've repaired my wheel cracks with need-it and sanded it. any suggestions on what undercoat to use. do i use a plastic primer or just 2 pac undercoat? :idea: :idea: :idea:

this question obviously has everyone stumped. i find it hard to believe no one else has painted their steering wheel. i'll take all the help i can get. :D :D :D :D

I painted mine with acrylic, only because I already had it.
But if I had to go and buy the paint it would have been 2pac, for a harder finnish, Trev 8) .

I'm about to do mine, so interested to see how yours goes.

I was going to use acrylic. Again because its more convenient and safer. :D :D

thanks for all your ideas guys. the last one i painted was on my last project an HZ prem. i just used black gloss vynal spray paint. i heated up the wheel with a heat gun then painted it. it lasted really well and only scratched once with a steering lock. this time i thought i'd try and do it properly. i'll try plastic primer then 2pac and let you know. :roll: :roll: :roll:

IMHO it would be better in 2 pak - acrylic would be too soft & scratch too easy
