Hope you can help
(I am totally hopeless at mechanical/electrical stuff)

I have pulled this out of the FC
some kind of electric wiper motor (forklift truck unit ???)
Image
Image
red wire went to + terminal, black wire to -

have bolted this in
Image
the terminals arent marked + or -
and the wires are different colours

Does the metal stap just go to a mounting bolt to earth the motor ?

which terminals do the red and black wires coming out of the firewall go to ?
What happens if i hook them up to the wrong terminals ?

Cathys ''ugly duckling" has different coloured wires and no earth strap
just to confuse me more

Get yourself a test light Surferboy , and try the terminals in Cathys - one of them will have power on it the other one will go to the wiper switch and when you turn the switch on it will earth it out to make the motor go.
Does the one in Cathys car self park? The strap is to allow the motor to keep going once you switch it off so the wipers self park.

:) the terminal close to the motor part on the wiper
is the power (right) and the other terminal is the switch
if you clean of the dirt at the front of the terminal's
there are leter's SW and BAT sw is switch and bat is
battery power wire see how you go anyway

Thanks guys
Got it all together and working good
except they still didn't selfpark
(I dont think they ever did. Cathys don't)

But now they've stopped working after I was trying to put the dashboard switch back together.

Will have to go to plan B
(as soon as I figure out what plan B is :? )

Nah Trev, I've got the same one on the roadster. Although you probably could use it for that... if you only want to cook half the meat

I'm playing silly bugger with my wiper switch at the mo...did'nt realize all the switch did was earth out the motor to make it go  ..not surprising since I don't have a wiring diagram handy (or at all!)..thanks all..this thread helps.
