thanks lulu,
well, managed to get a bit more done on the ek today (not as much as v8ek4us, unfortunately  :P ) i got the gutter piece fitted to the passenger side C pillar (thanks again thommo) worked out a treat, continued straightening the rear taillights/ boot area out. everytime i think its getting closer to one bit being done................. nope, theres another bit that needs fixing. okay enough gasbagging, hopefully enough to warrant photo's next week.

engine, trans and steering column is out and also removed the battery surround, started welding up excess holes in the engine bay to smooth up the look a bit.

finally got all the welding done (well i hope i have  )
has anyone smoothed off the sides of the engine bay so it doesn't have the indents? if anyone has pics would be great.
now comes the monotonous task of skim bog, sand, hi fill, sand, hi fill, sand...................................... at least its getting somewhere. hopefully moving to a house soon so i can get the ek into a proper garage and so i can work on it more than one day a week, and i suppose so kimmy's got more room in a house (had to put that bit in to keep the "handbrake" happy)
i'll try to get some pics up soon. for now i'll just show you guys a quick photoshop job i did to get an idea of how the car will look when its finished (if it ever gets there)

true, but i hope the one you cut it off was already a parts car.
after looking at the pics man i need more practice at smooth welding  . at least it'll all have a smear of bog to cover it all up  .
hopefully the weather stays good and progress can get back to a more normal pace.

nomad, thanks mate. your not kidding, it feels awesome to see the curves coming back. i was really starting to get that "what the hell am i doing this for" feeling. it seemed the more i worked on getting it right the less it looked like it should, but now i can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
thanks for the support.

matchew, thanks mate. yeah i've been checking out your build, looking great. thinking i might have to do a wagon next (or maybe a ute. dunno, so many ideas, so little money   )
i'll try to get some better pics that actually show the curves (primer just flattens out all the detail).

WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!! the ek has migrated to port macquarie.
nearly ended in disaster when the rear strap came unhooked and amost had the ek in the back of dads troopy  NOT GOOD.
then we had to get out of the busy intersection with the car rolling back and forth on the trailer till we could pull up and tie it back on.
but it made it! and is now in a nice secure garage instead of the "supercrap auto" temperary car garage 3/4 of an hour away at my parents place. now i've just got to get the rest of the house moved and we'll be right.

Geez you were lucky!! Personally I use at least two tie downs and keep the winch hooked up where possible.

But now you have a garage so get into it!!!!
