Hey fingers with all that bracing you could cut the roof of and it still wouldn't flex.

I remember when I bought the castlemain chassis kit it was engineer rated as having 70% more strength than a VC commodore floorpan, once fitted.

I like what you have done with the spring hangers good idea

Geeze I wish I had the time to finish mine, still building a house and working full time and kids and wife arghhhhhhhhhhh

Regards Greg

Got a little more done ...Have the diff trail fitted up .the tailshaft length measured and will order it tomorrow from M & S Tailshafts in Dandenong ..
Image

Image
..I will be able to fit 8" X 15" and 225 tyres ...the diff is a nine inch &*#@ LSD 31 spline billet axles and 3.25 ratio....diff length is 1360m from disc face to disc face ..It will need to be mini tubbed for a little more clearance but is good as is ...the rims have a 102mm outset form back of rim to mounting face .....
Just a tip if ya having trouble getting your rear spring hanger rubbers in .....turn the car upside down and use heaps of happy fat ...makes it real easy

Worked out where to mount the gear shifter B & M cable operated rachet action and the handrake is trail fitted but looks a little outta place so I may try to use the original FB handbrake lever ...all that will be required is a new cable to join to the BA/ BF F ord rear cables ..........Got the steering shaft trail fitted .....but all the best laid plans sometimes dont come together ..the steering column coming out of the firewall was half covering the back exhaust port ...so down tools , close the shed and will come back at it next week ...

Hey fingers I had the same prob with the steering colum. I ended up tossing the original firewall plate bit and using a piece of flat 4mm and slightly changing the angle and direction of the colum.Although im doing a 304 and log headers so it might be a bit different.
Im using a Flaming river tilt colum so Ive got some up and down adjustment at the wheel end
Mocked up i can only just pick that its not the original angle. Might be a different story when its all done up tight though :econfused:

Yep, Doller's right on the money. The original steering column floor plate puts the steering column too close to centre for V8's - I had to make a custom floor plate for my SBC too. It's still pretty tight on that back exhaust port (the CRS headers go almost vertical once the gas leaves the flange plate).

Cheers,
Harv.

Actually have a quick question so i might give you a call or PM... I have to cut out the rust in the rear window channel like you did in your pics, wanted to find out how hard it was to repair and what steel you used to reair it with

Cheers
