Nice to see some up-dated shots..(Thank's Timbo  ) I would have gotten rid of the special badges and kept the 'Stars"...but that's just me.
Looking more & more like a "Tony Special Vehicle" now...I love it! 8) 8)

It looks like I have been very BOLD shaving all those letters and stars, welding up the holes and painting etc. but aha! its just an illusion at the moment, concocted with duct tape on the inside and a bit of Pyramid Corral on the outside (Closet restorers like me have trouble actually welding up holes where trim was!) When I get the look I want, I'll lock it in and get out the MIG. Until then I'll just play. Thanks for the Cyber Lowering Blocks and cut coils Scotty. I can't do that with this wheel and tyre combo as the rear guards will eat the tyres.
It just looks so much better sitting down like that. Fi and I are leaving for the Blue Mtns. in the morning in VR wagon to pick up Tank Fairlane stuff (I hope!) and other assorted items. See you soon Pete SpaceAce. Thanks guys!
Tony.

A big thanks to you Queensland folk for a fun weekend..(photo's to come later in the week when I get home..I'm at Pete (Space Ace)'s place at the 'mo).

I have photos of my Twilight Turquoise EK hottie with me with long hair (Read ,SOME HAIR!) but I don't have the smarts to get it onto this forum. It had shaved bonnet and boot, spats and blinds, front overriders gone, wagon rear bar and a hot 179 with an EJ Premier wheel, column and even steering box strangely enough. It had EH front and rear end and power drums (I used the EH front end cause I thought the factory mounts would work in an EK. NEVER do this, as it puts the fan up with the bonnet lock and the rocker cover 6 inches from the firewall! I used the EH crashbox and cut 2 slots down the rear of the EK crossmember an welded a T shaped bit of 1/4 steel plate into it with 2 holes in it to support the gearbox from the rear. I got around the engine too far forward problem by extensively modifying the 2 plates that bolt opposite each other from the block to the engine mounts on a red. All this sounds very rough, but it was cutting edge stuff for a TAFE College student in the late 70s. Apart from that, with it's hotty red and rough and tumble personality, it was one of my all time great cars, and had the guts thrashed out of it more often than not. I was never beaten by an EH (the enemy!) but once was soundly thrashed by a black FB
Standard (TIM?) with a Stove Hot something under the bonnet. I think I may have dropped RustysDungers off at Springwood High School at least once in this car back in the 70s.
Anyway, enough bulldust, Pete, Scotty, Tim, I am lazy in the head! Please help me with these photos.

Thank you so much Tim. As always, you have helped me out. That car always seemed lower to me, but it usually was full of people, and I think I spent some time in the back seat , drunk, with someone else driving. The panel fit and chrome strip alignment seems to be a bit wonkier than I remember, but a hot machine none the less. Stuart, the hairy Red Head to the left of the picture is our own Space Ace, circa 1978 and the kayak champion is none other than Scotty Sputzwagen waiting for the incoming tide! The EK in the foreground is my turquoise car (when I got it from our late friend Glenn Clarke, it was Cataract Grey, and I later painted it Turquoise in my old mans front yard in dulon. Some of you N.S.W. guys may remember Glenn from the N.S.W. club in the 80s) The EJ was mine but I swapped it for a Mk11 Zephyr. I think pete may be under the car , and a previous friend, Gary is under the bonnet. Thanks again Tim.

Love those old pics!! especially the one with the car full of lads ...reminds me of me driving mine around 20 years ago ....no seatbelts and 6 lads piled in was always fun, lapping in the old "hit rig" as we would call it.
Looks like mine too ....Argosy turquoise??
