Sounds about it! I'd go the standard ute light flipped upside down like in Scoties drawing 8)

Ratbox , so sort of like this , but with the two red lenses together so they look as one and a clear lens on the bottom.

Devirod , I dont mind the upside down version

My 2 cents

Upside down single ute tail light, recessed into the body
so the lens is fitted from inside which hides the chrome housing,
so that just the lens can be seen from behind.

Or to achieve the same, grind of the chrome surround so you are just left with the base.
Attach the base from inside, attach lenses from the outside, extend body minamal amount
arond the light to achieve the look of just having sunken lenses.

Just another option

Cheers

Hmmm, see now my head hurts again , too many Ideas

Jeff , don't mind that idea , could also do it with the chrome surround recessed in and body out slightly , sort of match the headlight surrounds , how they are recessed in .

Theo , they look pretty cool too , did you get them made up , or is somebody doing them ?

Ratbox , still looking for FCCOOLS wagon

This one! Just cut the whole lot (curved upper and the mount) and flip it.

Rusty, A mate made them about 20 years ago. Only made the one set but i'm sure they aren't too hard to do yourself.

Now that is cool 8) , am going to go frenched lights , but don't want to copy , so am going to use some different lights and see what I can come up with , have scrounged around the yard and found something that might work

Thanks Stinky and Ratbox.
