The image seems reversed with indent for fuel sender wire on the wrong side?

Another Ebay special. Someone had put these 2 hinges back together backwards. Of course I didn't even think about that possability until they were all mastic-ed up and on the tailgate ready to bolt on.
Fortunately an easy fix but need repainting again now

I facebooked Thompson and he made the first tank surround panel wrong way around with the indent. Caveat emptor.

Yes. Some of these bits have been primed previously with what I assume is acrylic. So just to be safe am using acrylic etch and then usual primer and top coats.

I use car rep rattle cans but you have to clean with water based wax and grease.

A lot of farting around this last week.
Doors on and adjusted (they are never coming off), spare tyre door on (plastic one in stock: couldnt be asked to spend days getting the metal one I once thought was mint(

) sorted, but will come back to it sometime), front wiper grill fitted and tailgate fitted. Why is there no adjustment on tailgate mounts?
Turned out my ebay tailgate hinges were 15mm too long (maybe for a waggon?) So had to find some originals from the relics stash- still to paint.
Also discovered that there is a left and right side to the arms that limit/hold the tailgate open. Who knew?
Fortunately everything fitted within local Bungendore specs.
Given the amount of panel surgery it's actually all going ok. Gaps are ample!
Now chasing bumps, hollows and other imperfections (within reason). Trying to get body paint finished before it gets too cold.
I am going for a slightly used patina

.
(PS: It is a brackets day)

Coming along nicely Brett

what do you mean before it gets too cold? - geez, I just came home from Perth - it's already cold in Canberra, so I'm heading off again - start with the coast and see what happens. Patrick

Yes Patrick, heater on most nights now. Enjoy your travels.
Sprayed a bit of stone chip goop on this morning. Photo of 2 types I've used. Prefer the Sika as it dries off a bit quicker.
