Bit more today, brakes are now braking , clutch is now clutching - next thing was to sort this little drama out
Image

Rotors off and a quick flogging with a BFH had the old studs out

Press the new ones in

Whack ‘em back on and reassemble the calipers and hopefully that’s the last time all that stuff will need to come apart for a while Image

Better

Then onto my favourite game- wiring ImageImageImage
Dash out - again- which involves stripping the column , to redo the wiring for the electric water pump , horn and temperature gauge

Rapidly lost interest about here and called it a day.

Rotors are P76 Mick , No idea why the studs are so short - had to get a set that were 1/2" longer

thanks, thought they were P76 i have HQ studs in mine they're a bit short but just ok with stock HQ wheels so maybe your wheels are thicker

The wheel nuts themselves are a bit weird - they are quite long - rims are BCI 15” steelies so not really any thicker than a standard HQ rim . They had a reasonable amount of turns onto the stud but just looking at them I had to replace them

Bit more today - been struggling lately , I need to go in for a minor service for a new hip and it has slowed me down quite a bit Image
Dropped the block crank cam etc for the ute off at me maté Johnny’s place ready for the rebuild then started sorting out the temperature sensors for the rattler. Initially we were going to put one in the thermostat housing one in the top hose and one in the radiator but after talking to John he said it would be preferable to have all of them as close together as possible so it was time for a rethink.
Found a thermostat housing with a second 1/2” BSP port in the front on one of the 1000000 red motors lying around here so went to work on it Image
Chopped one of the heater flanges off and tapped it out to suit one of the sensors, cleaned the rest of the threads up and gave it a coat of jam
Image

Now instead of one sensor there will be 3 in the new one

Good luck with the hip surgery Blacky.

May be a silly question, but why do you need three temperature sensors in one spot?

What a pain in the arse EFI has been

Computer temp sensor on the left
Temp gauge in the middle
Water pump controller on the right in the heater hose hole.

If I had have just whacked a set of carbs on this thing it would have been on the road ages ago.........
