Not too bad. I can probably just put copper behind it and fill up with mig. Then metal fix. Can’t wait to get it painted and ticked off so I can get onto the rear.

Killing it Clay always a bad spot there at the base and a Ute only issue because of the water that gets into the tray and doesn't drain.
It is looking pretty thin there mate I was fairly lucky with mine I had a very thin area in the tray floor behind the cad divider looked like it had been hit with a shotgun it had that many holes and was really thin but very little rust in the base of the divider itself.
Anyway keep going mate you are almost there bud.

Cheers Neil. Not as bad as the van at least.
A job I’ve not been looking forward to, removing the tow bar.

Got one bolt out of the four bumperette inners by patiently working back and forth applying penetrant. The other three have shorn off the captive nuts inside the frame. Cut one off with grinder. Time for lunch and a ponder.

A big challenge there Clay - have you considered getting someone to give it a blast in all those tricky spots so you can be sure your getting most of it?

Yes I’ve considered it Wally but confident I’ve found most of it with the karcher. Not a big fan of dry blasting although I do have my own setup. Just using dried sand. Acid bath and wire wheel is my preferred method. Enables me to keep the car looking original survivor. Although the flash new interior trim may belie that.
Cheers

yeah I cant wait to see the headliner in place - even the trimmer was super impressed with quality of the fabric.

Tidying up the fuel tank and reinstalled the gauge sender to help keep the dirt out. I had thought the original gasket was reusable only to realise it has shrunk in the week or so since removal. Pep gasket goo came to the rescue.
Couldn’t work on the car today because I had to go and hang out with a bunch of other FB EK ratbags at Adelaide All Holden Day. Fantastic day.

Got in the back with the wire wheel on 18v grinder.

I was being optimistic. I’ve been down playing the extent of work to myself.
