Have you sat back and thought.."well I've done it now...I've gotta see it through to the end!"? I had that when I started on my custom mustache mould..(on a much smaller scale than your job ..of course ), this is the mighty 'unknown' that does this. It's what shows the rest of us that we CAN do it! 8) My hat is off to you Mark (so's the wagon's  ), this will be another great 'how to' in the forum annals for us all to salivate over. 8) 8) 8)
I'll be watching this chop all the way...and it'll look KILLER when it's done  8) .

Thanks V8EK, I've been lurking on these board from time to time and I'm a big fan of your work too...
Also I've noticed a whole lot of modifying going on over here.
Nice to see lots happening from familiar faces, Harko, ratbox, streetneat etc plus more talented people I am yet to meet.

Hey Stewart,
yeah big step up, this is my garage, and I have walls to keep the weather out now! Before the FE I had an EK... I think some of the guards made it on ratbox's delivery?? after I decided the EK was too rusty.. If I knew then what I know now, I could have saved it..

Thanks to Mark for giving me this opp to work on his wagon, I've spent years thinking about chopping a wagon.. I had braced my FE wagon to do it before deciding not to due to prolonging the build time.

I'm chopping Marks wagon based on the method described by LArry O'Toole, in the book Practical Guide to chopping tops... while there appears to be many different ways to chop a top, Im using the same method used on the 55 wagon.

Just finished the upper seat belt mounts / strengthening plates, and will be adjusting the roof rails this week to the new lengths required.

Cheers

Ed

Spent some time making upper seat belt mounts / pillar strengthening plates.

B pillar plate is 10mm thick, and it is captured in slots cut into the pillar.
tapped a 7/16" UNF thread for the belt mount. this helps align the pillar too when working on the rail.

the A and B pillars on one side will be tacked in and then the roof rail split longitudinally and the other side done before stretching rear ward to align the rear pillars.
