So some photos
Window rubbers, I've used the same inside and out, this is how it looks fitted.

Trying to show the profile, the one on the right I've taken the piece out and obviously the one on the left still has it in, I carefully used a scapel and cut it out. Windows are just under 600mm long.

And clean up of wiring, there was wires hanging everywhere, now he has turned it into harness that I can tuck up behind the dash even though there is still quite a lot of it it will all disappear I hope

Very tidy Neil. Interesting what you have done with the weather stripping. Somewhat similar to EJ on. How have you fastened to the door? Were you able to use the original clips? This could be an alternative to the original style for standard glass as well I am thinking. I have never thought much if the original set up water proof wise. This could work fitted to sliding glass outside only possibly. Did you do this because of difficulty getting longer lengths of the original stuff?

Sorry about all the questions.
Cheers
Clay

When you do the mod for the one piece glass there are no holes for the clips of the original weather strip where the quarter glass was or I should say there are none in mine and I remembered Trevor (Mazda crimson FB Panel Van) telling me that the weather strip he used made the window tight and the motors had trouble pushing the window up, I think it was even tight on the mechanical winders.

Rare Parts had a 3M product (mastic) specially for glueing this stuff but the name slips me at the moment, I will take a photo of it and post it up, I was told I had to key the paint underneath where the rubber goes so it sticks better so I did this yeaterday afternoon after work and so far it looks like it is going to stay in place really well and both my windows go up and down no problems.

Thanks Neil. Yes I get your point about no holes at the front. Good solution.

Got all the wiring hidden up and tidied the relays and engine fuses up beside the shifter so they will go under the console, also fitted inside door handles.
Carpet and bench seat going in this weekend coming.
This is the 3M product that Rare Parts supplied for the weather strips, sticks like shit to a blanket.

And the ID on the invoice that they gave for the rubber was Laser/Mazda/Capri rubber outer D belt if anybody is interested.

Trying to knock over small things now, had to make a slight modification to the top piece of a VT steering column surround to get it to fit but I think it looks ok, don't know if it needs to be painted or just left black!!

Just restore the plastic to black - there are some really good wipe on restorers now that make them look like new - yellow would be a bit too much I think
