Very cleverly, tastefully and somewhat inconspicuously modified Rob. It doesnt look like it would detract from the period correctness if the car, and I'm sure it will be more pleasurable to drive. Now you can factor in a heap of positive caster for high speed stability.

The idea was to have the motor body pointing up into the dash but the heater gets in the way - I may revisit that set up down the track - the motor can turn 360 degrees on the shaft so it’s easily moved later

Havent got dyno report yet but they reckon well over the Tonne with some room for improvement after some tweeks - they say the steering is very very good - you can adjust the sensitivity so it’s not too light - but there is movement in the pitman arm ball joint so that will improve even more if i can find one - or buy an early bits one ImageImage

Wouldn’t have thought it would be any different? Same size entry so would it not be same? Are you saying being more forward it works more efficiently?

Will keep and eye on the draft tube - see if any oil expelling - could possibly stuff the intake with some more wire mesh to slow if required

I cant see a ROCKET cover anywhere ?

Supercharger will increase blowby the rings and the motor will breath heavy.

You may find you use a lot more oil as well.
Looks the goods, be interested to see how it performs.

Very rare the Rocket covers :evilll:

Will keep an eye on Oil but there is no noticeable smoke apart from a puff at start up which it's always had - recently re-built motor so not expecting issues there - Oil is cheap.

Previous Dyno run before the head work and the 2 inch SU was 99.8 RWHP which I just couldn't live with being a Virgo so a ported head and having the intake manifold pegged to head plus the 2 inch SU got it well over the 110RWHP on first run but they have since mucked about a bit more on the SU so see what it gets the next run but it's definitely a lot more lively to drive even before the recent work - coming from 30 RWHP from a stock motor thats a pretty impressive gain without over stressing the motor I think - the idea is to achieve that power all under 4000 RPM so the curve is looking good at achieving that in the low 3000's so i dont need to ring it's neck.

we changed the Blower pulleys a couple of times to be basically running slightly negative drive - that gives me around 6-7 PSI at those higher revs so it's kind on the motor and the blower without being a waste of time and effort.

4000rpm and a roughly 1:1 drive is about as fast as you want to spin a Wray (or Norman). After that, they start making more heat and less huff.

Very impressive power levels Rob. What is the situation with registration now? Mod plate/brake upgrade required?
