This may sound stupid but I notice in this photo the dipstick looks to be a flexible one? :oops:
I ask as I'm having trouble with my exhaust manifolds fouling the dipstick on my injected 5ltr and thought if there is such a thing as a flexy dipstick it could save me changing the manifolds. :idea:
If it is one could you tell me where to get one from and if they suit the holden motor :?:

Dude, those manifolds come up a treat. They look awesome on the motor. So whens the big turn key day?????????
You have to video and chuck it on youtube.
I am sure there will be alot of forum members waiting in anticipation in front of their computers with a box of Kleenex by their sides!!

Devilrod hit the nail on the head!! It is a Lokar Flexible dipstick, I am not sure of the part number required for the 5lt EFI but it would be worth a look, great product...very well made. I also have a flexible Lokar unit for the Powerglide mounted on the firewall. :D :D

I also have a flexible Lokar unit for the Powerglide mounted on the firewall. :D :D
A mate of mine had one of these on his powerglide from lokar and it was too long so the gearbox was running low on fluid and shit itself :twisted: , a very expensive lesson, just a word of warning :wink: , Trev 8) .
PS; Car is looking sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet man :D .

Cheers guys (and Gals),

basic.green, most of the motor is "staying" it is just a couple of other parts that will be changed....... motor will be fired up this weekend with the "basic setup" to check that all is ok from heads down as the motor is a bit of a wildcard. Also need to get the ignition timing setup right before the swap as it could damage the new Ceramic coating on the headers due to the high temps on initial start up with the final setup while adjusting the ignition timing, therefore the ignition timing needs to be set before fitting of the final induction setup is installed as it will take some tuning and could possibly damage the headers during this tuning period. We have had to also install a rev limiter to suit the induction, this will also be checked during the initial "test run".

Thanks Trev, I never trust "non original" parts and had intended to pour in the "correct amount" of trans fluid required and check the stick to make sure, as you said... bloody expensive mistake! :wink: .

Have done a bit today..... fitted the speedo drive gear to powerglide output shaft (only turned up today), they are heat-shrink fitment......a few thou interference so you need to heat them gently to increase the diameter of the gear and then quickly slide them into position on the output shaft before it cools. All done with driven gear and speed sensor in place also.

I have done a prefit of the console (A/C ducting vents still to be fitted....tomorrow :roll: ).

the cars looking great, i just hope my paint will turn out half as good as yours looks.
this is just my opinion but no matter how many times i look at it, i just can't my head around that steering wheel, to me it just doesn't seem to suit the rest of the interior. those headers look 8) 8) .

The car is looking awesome, do your fingers hurt yet??
I dont see the flutes in the guards allthough Ide prefer it without them.
Mate you attention to detail and determination can't be challenged at this point. The exhaust set up is very clever and should still produce good power and sound.
Sorry but I have to agree with Luke about the steering wheel but hey Im just old fashioned and boring, 3 spokes for me.

Keep the pictures coming a great inspiration to us all.

I like the wheel because it has the same/similar pattern as the wheels and FB C pillar trims.

Wired up the 6AL ignition today, did a static ignition timing, primed the fuel, hit the start button and presto...... IT RUNS YAHOO!!!
