Thanks for the encouragement John. Just need to touch up paint and then fisholene and I can move on to painting the front underneath and stick the subframe back on so she’s rolling again.

Is that a kit you buy with gun, hose and oil, Clay?

Bought the gun at local paint supplier John and it’s called a Schultz gun I believe. Only about $20 so it is a budget one. Came with a nozzle which interchanges with a short length of 8mm hose with nozzle and fitting. I got a metre of hose off the shelf at local hardware so I can get right inside from either end. It’s also long enough to get the full length inside the sill panels from a central hole in front of the b pillar and under the scuff plate. 3/4” hole saw and grommets allow you to get a garden hose in there for flushing. Canister of Fisholene to suit was about $20 for a litre. I used about 200mm for first application but the more the merrier so I’ll probably do three or four applications.ImageImageIts a messy business so right up my alley. Turps cleanup. The hose came off the gun a few times as I was rotating it up inside the subframe, so there is plenty of overspray. Thanks for your interest.

Heaps happening there Clay.

I reckon your pick of the Roebuck style trim material look good, later 60s era GM colours and patterns style look decent in these old things I reckon. Mine is now in HK era blue thanks to VHT vinyl spray and everyone who sits in the car comments on how good it looks.

Big fan of the Rosco spec grommets in the subframe etc after a big fishoil. I employed quite a few round Leroy and after his first drive in the rain the other night, I can see that they’ve done the job.

Keep chipping away!

Joe

The use of the body schutz gun is clever. Never thought you could get a fishoil can to screw straight on.

Cheers,
Harv

Back under the car opening up the sill section drain holes with screw driver and hammer and blowing out with the compressor. About a kilo of dirt came out of the rear seat frame section. ImageImageInstant suntan.

A great bunch of pics Clay.

Even after the nasty findings very late in the build, it’s good to see you still smiling widely mate.
Your on the home stretch now.

Ric.
