Clay,
Strewth. Just aft of the idler arm. That's a lot of subframe to cut out. But I see you've already made a jig to suit. I was going to suggest (somewhat tongue-in-cheek) that the ute body was a ready-made jig.

I'm rolling my eyes reading this Clay
, as I'm expecting similar challenges as I pull mine apart. Keep up the good work mate.
Cheers,
John

Best practice would probably be to do it on the car, which is currently three feet in the air. I’m still resisting taking the front x member off at this stage. Bu then again I wasn’t going to take the motor out. Ten bolts later.....
These old mounts are on the piss.
They are 30mm too tall.
Thinking......
Mounts have to come off.

Clay, I like the patio you've built to keep your spare motors out of the weather

While the donor part is marinating in citric acid I started on the passenger side front dumb iron.
Amazing how much crap is still in there after all the hosing and blasting. I even found some nylon rope fibres around the subframe bolts. The front toe and driver side dumb iron look okay. The passenger side end of the dumb iron needs replacing so might just take it off so I can get access to driver side to clean out.

How u know I’m getting good penetration is when I start blowing apart good 20 gauge steel.
This is my jig set up.

You’re still ploughing through the work Clay.
Good stuff
Cheers,
