Hi all

Time for an update - jeez, where does the time go? Changed the front brakes a bit - VN rotors were not only too small in diameter for the VT calipers on the HR stubs, they're also too thin. VN rotors are 22mm whereas VT are 26mm thick. Found out that with the VN rotors/VT calipers set up the pads can actually drop out as they wear - not a real good idea!

Bought a set of hub adaptors from UPC in Melbourne & some VT discs to suit. Looks like this is going to work OK. Have to run 15" 26P offest Commodore wheels though, to clear the calipers. Here's a few pics.

Also, with the help of a BFH & some gas, modified the firewall and mounted an adaptor plate for the VT master cylinder as well as modified the EK pedal box & VT accelerator assy (just cos I had it) to suit. Should work OK too.

dad was amazed at what he seen, we need to get to work on ours been to busy on my new wagon forgot about the old girl. keen to see more

I thought it looked familiar, not long ago I put one(vs comm acc pedal) in a hotrod, found that the plastic pivot bushes push out and after drilling a piece of square tubing with a step drill was able to put in the bushes into the tubing to make boltting the acc pedal into a tighter area easier, cheers,

Old man used UPC for the brake conversion on his FB, they do some good shit and are heaps cheaper than hoppers

Sorry guys, not a lot to update. I's bin dickin' around on all the little shit - brackets to mount the HR buckets, cleaning & painting one thousand and one bits & pieces, sorting out brake lines, fuel tank etc etc. Trans is off at the mechanics getting tarted up so when it comes home it's in with the motor & box and things can start to get serious. Had a bit of ordinary news on the health front though so things might have to slow down a tad while the doctors work their magic. Cheers, Steve

Things are starting to improve health wise so we reckoned it's time for an update.

Motor & trans are in, hopefully for the last time. Not keen on cutting a hole in the bonnet though so will be experimenting with a lower manifold & air cleaner element to see if we can get things down a bit.

and steering is on the way to being sorted. Column is HR upper and VK collapsible lower:


Next up will be to fabricate some headers. Good clearance on the passenger side:


but the drivers side looks like being a real shit!


After that it's fit the booster under the drivers front guard then on to on to brake & fuel lines & wiring.
