Super rare now. Stripped and painted however, I need a different kit because these are off an EJ...

Ah hah! $44 per side is the going rate. I know the EJ manuals were a different box but the hydros too?

It is interesting how much development and change went in to the EJ driveline considering it was known it was going to be phased out within a year. They were really being pushed by &*#@ and Chrysler.

EJ on left and EK on right
Rear mounts are both 5/16 studs though the EJ are a couple of mm closer together - need to relieve EJ trans mounts to make EK ones fit
Front mount the EJ uses bigger 3/8 studs - need to relieve the outrigger, as even though the holes are 3/8, the studs are a couple of mm further apart

If the engine and transmission are going to end up in an EK, then I would strongly recommend using EK engine mounts, with the holes in the front engine mount drilled out to accept the 3/8" UNF bolts which the EJ motor uses. It would be best for you to scrounge a pair of EK Hydro rear engine mount brackets.
(Background for recommendation: in FE-EK, the front engine mount is a compression/shear type, and the rear mounts are compression only. In EJ, the roles are reversed - the front mount is a compression only type, and the rear mounts are compression/shear. The mounts are no doubt of different thickness, adding to the non-interchangeability.)
Another complicating factor: FE-FC front engine mounts have 5/16" studs; FB/EK front engine mounts have 3/8" studs. The front mounts that Rare Spares sells appear to have 5/16" studs. But they'll be usable in an EK.

...i have contacted rares to ask them why the EJ front mount in the kit is supplied with 3/8 bolts but drilled for 5/16...

I will admit I had to come inside to check to see if there was a different part number for EJ harmonic balancers....

I tried screwing it in and wouldn’t bite...why is it smooth? Nope just more crud that had been painted over...

The balancer is in good solid shape so will stash it away. I got a powerbond HB17B-N to replace it.

. . . as the saying goes, "if it ain't broke . . ." Why replace the balancer?

I need the modern balancer so I can mount a pulley on the front of it to drive the churn

Question answered. The only aftermarket grey motor harmonic balancer I've had any experience with fractured part-way along the hub. Cast iron, it appears.

The wobbly aftermarket one that I pulled off the FB a few years ago had a fractured hub too.
