Learnt some more lessons about TH350s. The early boxes had NPT threads for the cooler lines. My nice brass fittings sealed well in my old casing. My new, heavy duty rebuilt box has the later cooler threads... NPS. I accidently tried to reuse the tapered fittings, only to find that they bottom out before sealing. Gave the driveway a good coating in ATF. Ordered the proper NPS fittings, now gotta pray there is enough room to fit them in.

Still cannot get the damn door belts to fit properly. Have only tried the drivers rear, might have to move to another door. The felt is so close together, I can't get the window glass to separate them.

Took some photos of the car out in the sun next to Number 1 Sons VL bombadore.

I had similar issues with the glass and felt - I sparingly used silicone spray lubricant to help.

Out of curiosity, did the Rares door belts fit for length, or did you have to trim them? Did you have to make a bend on the rear door rear-most ends to suit the door shape?

They need a bit of trimming Harv, the way I do them is cut the stainless bits with a grinder with one of those reel thin cut off wheels and the rest of it with tin snips. A little clean up with a file and you're all good. You have to make the bend for the rear door, just put it on the top of the window and bend it and then trim off the extra stainless. Dave

As Dave said you will need to trim the length down. In the top (right angled) corners of doors if you want to be really fancy you to mitre the corners for a neater fit.

Small stuff:
- got the transmission leak fixed (as suspected, the cooler threads are NPS, not NPT),
- got the rear door curtesy lights switches fitted (thanks Cocko),
- got the reworked radiator support brace fitted (thanks Dave), though managed to get a tap stuck in one of the internal captive nuts which snapped off inside... I now have a tap hanging off the support, held in place by the loose nut inside the frame. Will have to cut the tap off as it aint coming out any other way,
- got the rear brakes adjusted. Looks like I haven't got enough leverage on the brake cable intermediary lever (park brakes work, but not enough). Will have to re-engineer that one.
- got the scratch plates fitted.
- got the dash trim pieces fitted.
- got the door card stainless cut back, along with the quarter window frames and a rear bumper centre. Still gotta final polish them.

Apologies - no photos of the recent stuff.

A word of warning though. Dave dropped some parts of at my place (with thanks).... in a big block Camaro. Number 1 Son was suitability impressed (he had only recently finished talking about Merlin engines). You could hear the gears going around in Number 1 Son's head for about an hour later. Now he has intentions of driving the EK wagon up the driveway - 400hp, narrow driveway, milkcrate seat. Have to make sure he doesn't have a garage key.

Maybe this stuff is hereditary .
