Clay

Some of these older posts I have been reading are good.
I’d like to know what became of some of the cars where the posts just stopped.

Ric.

Woody still owns this, its actually for sale but.

Photobucket cause a lot of problems on the forum when it decided to make people pay for a while and that holted a lot pof site traffic.

Cheers

Thanks Nathan, now we know why some just went chop.

I’ve really been enjoying reading all the early posts.

So many nice cars still out there.

Ric.

Seems like a pretty good price for a nice honest Station Sedan.

I ended up doing a deal with Woody on this and the car is now on the east coast.

To date, all it has needed has been a few minor electrical issues sorted and general maintenance.

It is a good weekend cruiser for the family and should serve it's duties well while the pink car has escalated dramatically....

So far it's had the following done:

Crupi battery tray fitted

Paint the rear floors for a bit if preservation

Replaced the regulator and genny to bosch ones as the old Lucas reg was cactus and I only had bosch stuff in the shed

Tidy up of all the under dash and body wiring. The dome light power wire had got a bit hot a some stage and done a bit of damage with bare wires under the dash..

Front end bushes

Seatbelts and baby seat anchors points for the grommets

And a set of Paul Kellys cruizin skirts that I picked up for someone and then they sold their car... worked out well for me in the end..

Fantastic. There’s something about a standard, specially in pastel green. Kind of shouts custom although it is factory. Then with the skirts really tops off the effect. Well done.

The clutch didn't have the best feel (getting a but slippy) and was a bit of an unknown.

I've been through the car and I am confident on things that will/won't need attention and I want to put some miles on it so for the cost of a new clutch, flywheel machine and a weekend of my time I decided to replace it.

Turns out it had the heavy duty 220mm red motor clutch in it and while not overly worn it was a bit glazed. Manufacture date of the old clutch was 2003. It probably hasn't done many miles since then but I'm glad I changed it. It's way nicer to drive now.

While I had the gearbox out I went through and cleaned it up and replaced a couple of the seals and flicked some fresh paint on it. I also blasted and repainted all the other associated hardware as well as throwing some new engine mounts, slave cylinder and hydraulic hose at it while it was all apart.

It drives so much nicer now and I think hill starts in the old bus will be a lot less stressful moving forward.

There was a little bit of rust under the brace at the rear of the gearbox so I attended to that while I was there. No doubt there is more hidden under all the tar/body deadner/grease oil and shit coating the undercarriage of this car but I'm not actively looking for it and will tidy bits and pieces up as it needs it. The aim of this car is to just keep it maintained and on the road while the other projects get finished.

Yeah it came with the clutch kit so I did it all while it was apart. Note the specialist tooling used.
