I got my bike registered this week. Yesterday I got game enough to go for a ride since the accident.
My mother begged me not to go out on it and to be honest I wasnt keen either.
I went up the mountains. The bike is just awsome but is a pig in traffic and slow speeds. Might have to relegated it to a track bike.
I guess im back on the horse.
Its gonna take a while.

I picked this ducati 450 scrambler up last saturday.
The guy won it in a poker game in 1978. He rode it till 1980 and parked it in his shed till I pulled it out.
Im just going to get this one running and give it a bit of a clean. I kinda like it looking like it has been sitting for 34 years.
I cant believe this bike was just down the road from me and ive known the guy for almost as long as he has had the bike.

Hello,
Thought I would post a picture of my dads bike he had for around 18 years. It is a 1960 BMW R60 (600 cc) with Adelaide made Tilbrook sidecar. A fantastic machine that was sad to let go recently, but had not been ridden since 2008.
Regards
Stephen

Hey mate
My old man has just done up a similar BMW. But is an R69S. 100mph every day of the week and tops out around 110mph, not bad for a 1960 model! The only thing in our stable that can knock if of is the mighty Vincent!
Im taking the BM in the parade lap around Philip Island this weekend at the Island Classic. Ill post some pics next week.
These bikes are in a class of their own and if you ve never ridden one you're missing out. The earls link forks were befor their time and still amaze me how well they work.

Well I've been looking at getting another bike for a while now and as another birthday is getting closer I realised I better get serious or it's not going to happen. I decided on a Triumph cruiser but I wanted one that was made in England and a carby model so I can do all my own work, got onto this one owner 02 model with full service history. Picked it up last Monday and rode it four and a bit hours home, riding along I started "planning" what I would do to the bike and it hit me that the last time I had a Triumph with my name on the rego papers was when I was 19 and it was an old pre-unit 650.
It was cheap and I learnt a lot about fixing oil leaks, I did customise it and at the time choppers were in so I went with the compulsory ape hangers, sissy bar and maltese cross mirror and tail light. My mates at the time were starting to get into bigbore jap bikes and I did the same so the Trumpy made way for a second hand Honda 4. Some might thing I stuffed up a classic Triumph 650 but in the 70's like old Holdens they were cheap.
Anyway here's my new ride and a glimpse at my old one,no prizes for spotting the HK Monaro in the background with the classic cut coils 70's stance and spoiler bolted to the bootlid. Like I said it was the 70's when old cars and bikes were cheap (they had to be I was on apprentice wages)
