Love the "anti theft device" I had one of those until recently  ..If your Pit Teddybear is anything like mine...keep your windows open...the tend to get too excited and "let off odours" with happiness about going for a ride!! :wtf:

well didnt do too much to the old girl last break - cruised it to south side of brissy and back didnt miss a beat. and then started some prep for the long trip west.

brand new 3 row radiator fitted,
block flushed
new radiator hoses top and bottom
new water pump
new fan belt

then it was time to drop it at the mechanics while i went back to work :( would have loved to have done it all myself, but i wont have time.

reset springs 3"
new bushes in the ass end
new exhaust
new slave cylinder
new front wheel bearings
points and condensor
timing and tune up
carby kit
new bushes up front
wheel alignment
gearbox service
diff service

pick it up when i get back from work cant wait 8) if you can think of anything else i should do before the drive let me know.

and i aslo hooked up my alpine ipod head unit, along with some 4" alpine speakers. made the glove box out of 9mm MDF to suit...after seeing devilrods made out of sheet metal on here i think im going to remake it eventually... this will do for now

TIming gear and radiator sock.
You will need to reset the points in the dizzy in the first 100 miles or so.
Check your sterring box - fill with penrite steering box lube
Make sure you lube your dizzy, generator and other moving parts on the engine
Tim
thanks for the advice Tim, ill make sure i tick them off the list before i set off
also ill be in touch with you about that speedo - just got to tee it up with you when i know when im heading down there next.

well now for some updates -
got it back, with the above work completed, drives so much better now, especially with the reset leaf springs over the blocks. I put in new shocks, at each corner, the old ones were well past their use by date, got the leafs reset 3" and then i got bored, so i chucked the 2.5" blocks in and was going to drive it to greazefest like that, but decided against it...
Image

anyway, cruised it down to greazefest, no dramas, didnt miss a beat...then when i got got it home, got bored so fitted up the gauges.
Image
Image

so now with the gauges installed, and keeping being able to keep an eye on what the old girls doing (oil pressure, water temp) it was time for some more cruising, everyone was at work so had to settle for my dog to ride shotgun. (note the drool marks on the paint)
Image

then i have to persuade him to get out of the car!!!
Image

now i got bored again, so out with the interior - found a few little holes in the floor, nothing major, some interesting rust repairs...so time to get the welder out.
Image
Image

all stripped out (bar the front seat) and ready to go to Cam at North Coast Custom Trim....
Image

Should be getting it back in about a fortnight, more pics then

Those gauges look spot-on. Are you going to hunt down the rest of the set?

Thanks Trev, long way to go still, looking forward to getting setup over west so I can really get stuck into it.

Yeah, they were the bottom of some sort of tin can, bit of silicon on the bottom, punch a few metal screws in and good as new. I guess it works as a temporary job...

Thanks mate, I was thinking of just sticking with the two, I don't want too many hanging down there, might start to look abit busy.
