Thats a truly terrifying thought Pete! Those guys were like a bad abcess. My mom would say "Don't go down there! The're always in trouble with the police! You will be like them!" but compared to the boring streetscape of the early 70s (not so boring now!) at least they had cool cars and trucks which they were always working on (Sometimes long into the night!), mostly old Bedfords, Commers, Fodens, AECs and those magic 50s F500s and Cussos , Mainlines and XK and XL" Foulcans "etc. The place was like a Magnet to me, but it was eventually to nearly be the demise of me and old Scotty Sputzwagon one night in a Ratty Zephyr. I shouldn't have swapped for that EJ! Wow! What a load of HOO HA! Anyway, I am still busy with my caravan, but I'll come good on my promise soon so Please don,t sick the Beagle Boys on me yet! We have to talk more on pedal cars, I am in awe of your Knowledge!
Tony.

Driving home from my girlfriends place in Penrith late one night in my Daggy blue Mk11 Zephyr in about 1979, I came across Scottys grey EJ Special (A truly Spunky car with Tasman Mags etc.) So, why were Scotty and Victor, furiously throwing handfulls of dirt from the side of the road, in through the drivers door????????

Tim. Not a terrific result, as I said today at Gatton. All the great help from you guys, but it wasn't wasted because I'll put some bearings and stuff in the one I just pulled out, and at least I know the synchros are good and there are no broken gears etc. The new one whines quite loud in first and second (It looked so good inside. The age old trap!) and it doesn't crunch into 3rd if you double it! The problem with that is the slow clutch release due to "Clutch Hose Cholesterol". Despite this, wev'e still done big mileage this weekend. Saturday Arvo, my place to Laidley. Early Sunday morning, Laidley to Gatton through Forest Hill. Pass up some Keystone looking mags (13 by 6) only 2 and no money (Thanks anyway Tim) then got lost on the way to Rathdownie (should have gone through Boonah, took wrong turn ended up going through Ipswitch, totally wrong!) got caravan rego stuff, then back to Brissy by sundown. Ishould have got a photo, my FB and my old Galaxie at the swap parked together. More on Beagle Boys story soon Tony.
