Ammo's Ute
Re: Ammo's Ute
I'm told it is more likely to crack a laminated one the way the original screens were put in that's why I took Frank to Windscreens O'Briens when I had the laminated screen put in and I rang the branch I was using first to make sure they new what they were doing with old cars.
Maybe you could get a mobile guy Roger if you make sure they know what they are up too.

We are lucky over here - there is a VERY experienced guy who does mobile fitting in the Perth area

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hey Roger
I seem to recall Drew had some fun (aka headaches) putting his screen in the wagon then discovered the new screen was bigger than the original requiring it to be trimmed. Maybe worth a call?

Re: Ammo's Ute
Thanks Greg for the link.
I spend considerable time to day getting the trim into the rubber groove with some success.
I knocked out any bumps and filed any sharp ends on the trim before staring.
The upper corner trim are not sitting down so I banged it with the palm of my hand but no movement.
Tried a dead weight plastic hammer but still not happy.
Walked away before I lose it and will likely pull the trim on the weekend.
.
Appreciate everyone input and I will get it sorted.
Cheers,
Roger

Re: Ammo's Ute
I was thinking to come stick my beak in before the meeting but too hot! If you’re not sorted by Sunday night I’ll be around there with a few sets of trim and bottle of Palmolive.

Hey Roger the trim I had put into Frank also had a slight issue with the corners I reckon they get a bit out of shape when they are pulled out of old seals and vehicles.

Re: Ammo's Ute
I pulled the coils out yesterday as there is little steering angle before the tyrs rub on the guard.
I trimmed and rolled the guard so now I need talled springs.
Grabbed a set from Richard, on the left, that I think will work Ensured the diameter of the coil the same so ride will be smoother than up sizing the coil. Height of what I took out Coil that will go in. Now need to compress and install.
Cheers,
Roger

Should raise the front about 60mm by my experience.

Re: Ammo's Ute
Springs in with Mitch's help.
I should be happy but it goes against the grain to raise a car. The lower to better I think.
Cheers,
Roger

Re: Ammo's Ute
Any meat left to machine off the wheel? couple mm might make a difference, then add in more camber than you need. Sometimes you just have to be satisfied with what ya got.

A place for everything and everything in it's place, just can't remember where that place is.

Fine tune it with the nylon shims mate. A little makes a big difference
